Rene Tousant, Family Support
A recent study published in the journal Autism states, parents of children with developmental disabilities, particularly autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), are at risk for high levels of distress.
There’s no way to avoid stress completely but there are effective ways to manage it. Such as the Arc’s Family Support groups. Rene Tousant facilitates these groups every Tuesday @ 5:30pm.
These groups give families and/or caregivers of children with special needs, a chance to share their triumphs, frustrations and fears with others who have been there. During the group’s session, children participate in an integrated recreational program at a variety of levels so the adults can focus on the group discussion.
The Spanish speaking group meets every 1st & 3rd Tuesday while the FOCUS Group meets every 2nd & 4th Tuesday. If you’re interested in joining on of these groups, please, contact Rene at (530) 891.5865 ext # 119 or reneetousant.arcbutte@gmail.com
