DO ALL CHILDREN DESERVE TO PLAY? WE THINK SO TOO - DONATE TODAY!
A SPECIAL PROJECT FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
The Arc of Butte County provides a variety of direct care services to over 1,400 families in Butte, Tehama and Glenn Counties. The children involved in our Family Support Programs and Weekend Respite (Rainbow of Kids Club) are offered a chance to appropriately socialize and engage in recreational play outside of their typical family dynamic. This change in routine allows for children to experience the bonds of friendship and take part in safe and healthy physical activity.
One of our favored on-site tools offered to children in Arc programs is our All-Abilities Playground. Unfortunately, due to 20 years of wear and tear, sun damage and vandalism, the playground is no longer safe to use and has been closed.
THIS IS WHERE WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Your donation will make it possible for The Arc to reopen our playground. Because we are unable to host our in-person fundraisers, Arc is seeking help from our community to finance the renovations for our All-Abilities Playground – something that does not currently exist in Butte County.
This playground will be re-constructed at our Chico location and includes a wheelchair-accessible swing, various other appropriate play equipment, and protective ground covering that drastically decreases the opportunity for injury and makes navigating with a wheelchair possible. Such specialized material is costly, and we need your help reaching our goal so that construction can break ground.
Please watch our short video detailing the playground and its impact. And remember… No child should have to sit on the sidelines because they are different. No child should feel left out. Please donate today so that children of all abilities can play.
