Adult Day Program

Chico and Oroville

At the Arc of Butte County’s Adult Day Program (ADP), we believe in the inherent potential of every individual with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to lead fulfilling lives. Recognizing the unique challenges they may face, our program provides a nurturing environment aimed at fostering growth and development.

Our approach focuses on empowering clients by acknowledging their strengths and abilities. Through a blend of facility and community-based programs, we equip them with the skills needed for societal contribution, independent living, and goal achievement. Central to our ethos is community integration, facilitated through regular outings and activities that encourage social interaction, skill-building, and exploration. Each Friday, our Fun Friday outings offer recreational activities, local excursions, and enriching experiences, eagerly anticipated by our clients.

Encouraging peer engagement and fostering meaningful relationships are core values of our program. Understanding the diverse needs and aspirations of our clients, our instructional curriculum is both progressive and adaptable. Our dedicated instructors ensure personalized support, allowing clients to work towards their goals at their own pace while retaining learned skills. We firmly advocate for the right of every individual with special needs to pursue self-directed personal growth and employment opportunities.

Serving adults in the Chico and Oroville areas with conditions such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome, our program aims to enhance the quality of life, promote independence, and instill confidence. At the Arc’s ADP, we cultivate a safe, supportive, and inclusive community that celebrates diversity and nurtures personal development. We invite you to join us and witness the transformative impact of our program firsthand.

Job Opportunities

At the Arc of Butte County, we offer clients in our Adult Day Program the opportunity to gain valuable skills through our work program at the Arc Thrift Store. Through hands-on experience, participants learn essential skills such as customer service, basic math, and appropriate socialization. These skills are not only beneficial within our program but also transferable to employment opportunities in the wider community. Our goal is to empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by equipping them with the tools they need to succeed in both work and life.
