The Job Development program at The Arc offers valuable opportunities for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to enhance their vocational skills and access competitive integrated employment in the community.

Our Job Development Program is dedicated to breaking down employment barriers for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We carefully match each individual’s skills and interests with businesses where they can succeed and grow. Our program is tailored to address the unique needs of both job seekers and employers, providing customized support, coaching, and guidance. By fostering inclusive workplaces, we empower individuals with IDD to thrive, contribute meaningfully to their community, and achieve their full potential.

Individually Designed Programs

Our program focuses on each participants needs to find and sustain integrated employment. Our job coaches work one-one-one and in small groups to best support our participants needs.

Rise University

Our Rise University supports IDD individuals in developing the skills necessary to maintain successful employment.

With training prior to employment and personalized supports throughout employment, our participants gain valuable knowledge and skills to contribute to their employment companies.

Pre-employment training includes:

  • Individualized study topics
  • Small group courses related to employment
  • Individual interviews to match participants to the best employers

Support during employment includes:

  • 1:1 job coaching as needed
  • Payroll services for PIP participants
  • Access to job development manager to facilitate positive employment experience

Frequently Asked Questions

Paid Internship Program (PIP) participants’ wages are funded by Far Northern Regional Center (FNRC). CIE participants’ wages are funded by the individual business.

Job support is based solely on the needs of the individual and can range from 1:1 support during shifts to regular check0ins with job coaches to support problem-solving

No, but out goal is for our PIP participants to secure employment following their one-year internship.
